Episode 14: ADHD, Dopamine Deficit Inattentive Disorder

Hello Tenacious Humans!

You get to listen to my very scratchy, horse, night club voice on this week’s episode. 🙈😆 I’ve got a cold or bad allergies. Not sure which, but it’s made my voice go bye-bye.

On today's episode I talk all about the WHY behind ADHD. The simple answer to “Why do I have ADHD?” is DOPAMINE. If your brain doesn’t create the amount of dopamine that your frontal lobes need, you’re going to have a hard time with day-to-day tasks. Our frontal lobes are in charge of our executive functions (don’t worry, next weeks episode i’ll hit what these are hard!). If our frontal lobes don’t get the dopamine we need then our executive functions go way down and we end up doing poorly with daily tasks.

I talk about all things dopamine! If you have any questions, comments, stories to share, feel free to comment below OR send me an email with the above form. The Tenacious Heart Moment form will always be pinned at the top of the blog so you can reach me, send questions, or even share meaningful stories from your own life. I can’t wait to hear from you. Let me know what you think about Episode 14.

I hope each of you have a wonderful rest of your week AND that you don’t get the stupid cold that I’ve got. 🤧 Take care!
